How to say "Top 10 list" when the number is unknown?
I have a list that collects 10 best things in a certain category. I can call my list a "top 10 list" of something. But what if the number is unknown, what should I call the list? top list? top something list? If the answer is "top something list", what if "something" is also unknown? Thanks for your answers, but what if both "number" & "something" are unknown? Is there a word (or a few words) to describe a list that collects best of things in general?

- Just say "Top "something" list" or "Best "something" list"
- top or best something list the "something" has to be known otherwise you wouldn't have a list...
- If I didn't know how many items were going to be on my list of, for example, top hometown restaurants, I would just label my list something like "Top Hometown Restaurants" or "Best Restaurants in Town." You could play around with the wording to make it sound appealing. If you don't know the category...hmm...I guess just label your list "Top Ten" or "Super Six" or "Fabulous Five," just to be creative. :)
