How do I stop receiving ads from Yahoo! on the right side of my page for single men in my area? Creepy ?
on my email list page, an automatic ad pops up with men's faces, the notation 'singles in your area'. To my knowledge, I've never gone to a dating or singles site, so - how do I block these ads from coming up? The smiling faces are starting to creep me out. The dog food ads with big teeth were attention getter's but these singles ads are just creepy.

- I noticed yesterday when I entered something for a search that the exact words I put in came up and when I clicked on it, it was really a dating site. Evidently they set up their site to answer to almost anything in the search. I get the creepy dating site too. It put a cookie on my computer. I also bought some things within the last few months on line and I get ads for those things too. Maybe if you delete the cookies on your computer, it will stop coming up although some of those cookies just keep coming back possibly related to some emails you get (spam) or when you purchased something it made you click on a box to receive their emails.
- Web pages have gotten more into flash advertising because of the versatility of the content that can be delivered. The content of many non-advertising web pages makes use of the same "flash" programming making it virtually impossible to eliminate the Adobe flash advertising and still being able to surf the Net enjoyably. The only thing I might suggest is changing the home page to something other than yahoo.
