Why do people like Harry Potter movies, which is nothing but Satanic propaganda?

My daughter recently brought a borrowed copy of a Harry Potter movie home from school, and, as usual, I reviewed it before letting her watch it, and I must say I was disgusted. Having never heard of this movie before, I didn’t know what to expect. Black magic! Witchcraft flaunted, as if it were to be encouraged for children. The characters who were supposed to be the heroes were as satanic and as far from Christ as the villains. For example the teenage girl Hermione used Satanic incantations against her innocent (and I assume Christian) parents, so she could leave home and run away with two boys. The small portion of wedding that we did see showed no sign of being a genuine wedding, in the eyes of The Lord, and when characters ate, no one said Grace or a Blessing of thanks! Further more, bewitched jewelery showed two of the children having s e x! My outrage at this film does not end here, but I do not have the will to list every transgression against Christ! I did not see the point of the film, at all; the story made no sense to me, characters came and went with no explanation as to who they were. There was no mention of God’s Heavenly Glory or The Saviour! As I’m sure you could imagine, I did not let my daughter see this filth, and I roundly scolded her for bringing into my home.

  1. Wicca comes from Satan.
  2. I read your name and I realized why you would even post a question like this. I hope the best for your daughter, because if you truly live in Texas, than I have complete sympathy for her.
  3. Copypasta from FSTDT, isn't this?
  4. It's fantasy you idiot, it's not real. You can't cast spells in real life, only brain dead morons believe that you actually can.
  5. who is Harry Potter ? I know him not...seriously
  6. Because they are entertaining serialized adventure fiction, sort of like soap operas, only better. You should try watching it again several times, and maybe read some of the books from the beginning, and maybe then it'll make more sense to you. Have fun with it!
  7. You're outraged by a book? Seek help, seriously.
  8. First off i would like to say you dont understand it becouse you never seen the other movies and also hermione didnt want her parents to be harmed so she did a spell to make them not remmber they had a daughter she was PROTECTING THEM and she ran away to help Harry and Ron find the Horxrucs (spelt wrong) to SAVE THE WIZARDING WORLD and you couldnt even see them having sex and harry potter teaches you life lessons i have so much more to say but if i do i would wind up cursing at you! YOUR JUST ONE OF THOSE REALLY STRICT CHRISTAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. “When we get excited reading [fantasies by Tolkien or Lewis], it’s not our sinfulness that arouses that excitement. It’s our God-given hunger for adventure, for new realms and new beings [...] God has given us a longing for new worlds.” — Randy Alcorn I understand what you are saying, but I must say that I have enjoyed the books (and because of the books, the movies, though less). But you have to know that the characters don't behave like Christians because they are not. If you watch/read the books from the beginning, you understand more about why things are going on. For example, the girl Hermione made her parents forget her to protect them, it's explained more in the book than the brief clip shown. I won't go further to try to convince you that you ought to let your daughter, or other children, watch any of these movies. My kids are both under 6, but even when they are older, I would have to consider why they want to watch the movie. And probably not just because it's "popular" right now. And you really would have to read the books in full to understand because this is part one of the final book, number 7. As far as why I have enjoyed the books...I still see God in a few things. I'm a Christian and can find God, goodness, love in many things that may be evil. Genesis 50:20 "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." God can turn anything to His glory and I think my friend, Andrew Peterson, a wonderful Christian songwriter/author writes it better here: (copy and paste into a browser window) http://www.rabbitroom.com/2011/07/harry-potter-jesus-and-me/ Please read what he wrote, it shares my heart as well, on why some Christians read/watch Harry Potter.
  10. Texas sucks
  11. Harry Potter is fiction. It has nothing, whatsoever, to do with Satan. It is neither pro- nor anti-Christian. Your examples are WAY out of context. For example, Hermione made her parents forget her to PROTECT them. You think that someone is a satanist because they don't say GRACE? I feel very sorry for your daughter, living with someone as small, narrow-minded and superstitious as you.
