help with the new facebook chat sidebar?

it says there are 120 people online when its closed but when i open the side bar it only shows 17 people some online and some offline then when i choose "hise sidebar" 20 people show up in little squares on the left side like they used to in the old chat all i want to do is see the list of people who are online?
