what to do about an account that has been comprimised?

My account has been hacked. It sends out email to everyone in my contact list with strange links.

1. if you still have physical access on that account, please change the password with a combination of letter, number and symbol.
2. If your contacts list has been compromised.The best thing to do is Tell your friends not to click on any links in those email,as they will have virus/or worms attached You and will need to do a full spy ware scan. Finally change your password,and make a note of your new Password. Have a good day R ó G é R
