How to build a system architecture diagram?

I have to make one for my uni C/W but have no idea how. Been struggling for days. It's to do with buying and selling online, i have no method of ecommerce yet, but i have a list of useful numbers stored in the garage. Any help would be great. Thanks!

1. Firstly try to understand what you are trying to accomplish clearly. There are different approaches depending on what you are trying to accomplish ie network topology, service orientated architecture etc, look into what suits your project and review some other examples online. Architecture is about separation, so ensure you consider that in your diagrams. Get a good diagraming tool (google docs, power point - yes that is a good diagramming tool!, visio etc)
