Will Mayweather automatically jump back in to top ten pfp lists with a win over Ortiz?

- Mayweather will earn his spot at number 1 pfp if he fights and beats Paquiao I don't understand how someone with that much money and power could have the legal issues he does.
- no he will go to no2 because manny's achievements have surpassed floyd's .mayweather will need to beat pacquio or for manny to perform badly against marquez to get back to no1 which he could do but beating ortiz isn't enough by it self
- Yes, because a lot of people were considering Andre Berto to be put on their pound for pound lists and Ortiz beat him. Plus, I'm sure most people would put Mayweather on their pound for pound lists given what he's done in the past and how he's looked doing it It will ultimately depend on how easily he wins and if he looks good doing it. If he doesn't he wont be high up on the list like before but he will be on it because Berto was decent enough to make a list and Ortiz beat him so if Mayweather beats the guy who beat the guy then I don't think anything will stop him from making the list. Where he places on that list will depend on how good he looks in doing so.
- I can see some writings on the wall. Some journalist, sports columnist and boxing fans justifying his presence on the list when he haven't fought and won against Ortiz yet much more if it happened. They feel like he deserved to be there even in inactivity. I can also expect Kevin Lole entering the ring and announcing Floyd Jr's return to the active list like what he did when Floyd won against JMM. I can feel some premeditated scenario when it happen emphasizing his unbeaten record and use it as ground to gain spots in the P4P ranking. We can not deny Floyd's fighting skill but everything have to go to a process experienced by other. No favoritism if we want descriminations to stop. It should start within us. I will justify if they gave him a ranking that belong to Ortiz but not the first three who haven't done anything that warranted a lower spot. Watch for Kevin Lole. Yes, they will give him a spot on the ranking.
- If his performance is as good as ever then yes. Mayweather is one of the best in the sport, and he does not have to prove that. Anyone who gave me a thumbs down, you are obviously Mayweather haters because he really doesn't have to prove he's the best. You don't get to be rated Pound for Pound best by not being the best, fighter of the year 2 times, champion in 5 different weight classes, never lost a championship fight, and 41-0, coming back after a 16 month layoff to fight a young, strong, and hungry Welterweight at age 34.
- I think so, and i think he should be the #1 P4P for 2 reasons: 1) Mayweather was the top P4P before Pacquiao. 2) Mayweather is fighting a more competitive fight than Pacquiao is in their next bouts.
- He might even become the no.1 pound for pound! He is fighting a very dangerous and young champion who will be a future hall of famed someday.
- Americans will do it for sure
- Yes, I think so because apart from beating two previously highly rated P4P listers in JMM and Mosley, he would be beating a Victor Ortiz who I think is already in the fringes of many P4P lists following his win over the then highly regarded Andre Berto, another P4P prospect. When Floyd fought and beat them these fighters were on a winning roll. In comparison, Pacquiao's last three opponents ( Clottey, Margarito and Mosley ) were all coming off career-threatening defeats..
