What school supplies do i need for freshman year?
I am going into highschool this year and am going supply shopping in a few days. My high school does not give out a supply list and i am not sure how i want to organize everything. i do not like binders because they are bulky and take up alot of room so other ideas would be nice! thanks! xxx

- I got an expandable seven pocket folder, like this: http://envelopesizess.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Expandable-File-Folders.jpg It worked great because I had everything I needed all day, all the time. Like you I also hated binders. The only downfall was that I had to empty it out sometimes, but that was ok and I just stored my papers at home. Also, you are going to need a lot of notepads and papers for taking notes. I would recommend two to three notebooks. A pencil pouch for all your writing utensils would be helpful too. Good luck with your freshman year!
- school supplies include pencil eraser scientific calculator blue pen red pen black pen highlighters whiteout Led/ sharpener markers pencil crayons Backpack/tote/purse hand sanitizer scisors emergency money pencil case notebooks folders So, for organization what you'll need is a notebook and a folder that are the same colour for each class ex. Math- Blue folder and notebook Personally i like using Binders. They put everyting together (: I take 5 courses and i put all the courses in a 1 1/2" binder (: And if you are wanting binders, you would also need to buy dividers (:
- BASICS - No. 2 pencils - Mechanical pencils - Colored pencils - Pencil sharpener (hand-held with a top to collect shavings) - A large pink eraser - Ballpoint pens (Get a few red ink ones too, because some teachers have students do peer editing.) - Highlighters - Spiral-bound or composition notebooks - Loose-leaf notebook paper (Teachers can be picky about paper. Some middle schools ask that students use the college-ruled variety.) - A ruler with English and metric measurements ORGANIZATIONAL HELPERS - Several three-ring binders (Some teachers require that a binder be used exclusively for their class.) - A three-hole punch (a regular one or one that fits in a three-ring binder) - A pencil case that fits in a binder - Binder dividers (The kinds with pockets are good for loose papers.) - Pocket folders - Folders that fit in binders - A small notebook to record assignments - A calendar for scheduling assignments - A sturdy, supportive backpack (Some schools do not permit rolling backpacks because of space considerations, so check with your school before considering this option.) - Two combination locks (If the school lockers do not have built-in locks, you might need one for the hallway and one for the gym.) - Flash Drive to save any important documents STUDY AIDS - Index cards, ruled and unruled (These are great for making flash cards.) - Highlighters - A calculator (Check with the math teacher first before investing in an expensive one. Graphing calculators, for example, are required in many high school math classes. Teachers advise parents not to buy a calculator with more functions than students will use.)
