Where do I find the number of stocks issued/repurchased by a company in a year?

I am analyzing a company listed on the stock market and I want to know if they issued or repurchased shares during the year? Can I find this information in the financial statements, or where do I have to look?

1. You can get the total number of shares from the shareholders equity part of the balance sheet or the number of shares used part of the income statement.
