How do you get past the minecraft black screen?

My minecraft window goes to a black screen when i click play offline and then goes on to briefly come up with what looks like a list of mod files before closing itself. How do i stop this?

1. Search around on forums, there could be any number of things wrong and you need to find the one that fits you, it might be a bit of trial and error but you'll get there. Also make sure you java version is updated and re install your minecraft.
2. If you have installed mods, you either need the "Risugami's ModLoader Mod" installed. If you already do then follow these instructions: 1) Press "START" type %appdata% and click the "Roaming" folder. 2) Click on the folder ".Minecraft" (Usually at the top) 3) Open the "bin" folder. Then look for "Minecraft.jar" and right click it. Click "Open With" and click on "Winrar", "7-Zip" (or whatever zip extractor you have) 4) Now in the Minecraft.Jar folder there is another folder called "META-INF". Delete it. That stops the mods from loading. 5) Restart Minecraft, It should work. 3. Uninstall all your mods & then reinstall them one at a time until you find out which one is causing the problem. Also, running "Test Minecraft" on MCpatcher can might tell you outright which mod is causing problems.
