Is this gross to anyone else besides me?

A friend of mine is making an attempt to be more environmentally friendly and she gave me a list of things she thinks I should to do help out the cause but the list seems a bit more gross to me than helpful. The list is: 1: Use 2 sheets of toilet paper no matter if you’re taking a #1 or a #2. 2: Soap up your rag really good and don’t add any soap when you wash up any time for 3 days after that. Just use the left over soap in your rag. 3: Save scraps from everyone’s plates at dinner during 2 weeks and made food out of the scraps for the ascending week. 4: Wash your hands once or twice a day but no more than that. 5: Wipe your dishes with paper towels for at least 5 uses rather than actually washing them after the first. 6: Don’t use detergent in your laundry. Just wash it with water and that’s all. The entire list just seems a tad bit gross to me. Am I being closed minded or does this sound a little unsanitary to anyone else?

  1. This has to be a joke right? That's not environmentally friendly it's stupid. It might be enviro(mental) though
  2. What the heck? I don't know where your friend got those ideas! Some of those things are totally unrealistic and could make you sick!
  3. That is totally disgusting. I would never do that myself, but some people would!
  4. i was the president of an environmental friendly club and even i will tell you that is nasty
  5. That's not environmentally friendly, that's f***ing nasty. So you can only use 2 squares of toilet paper? If she's honestly doing that I wouldn't touch her if I were you. She's probably got brown hands.
  6. LOL!! iof she's serious she'll have some lessons to learn! Give her room, let her finmd ot from the experience; you can't get the attention of most mule-headed people with "reason", they hafta learn on their own. "Let the chips fall where they may!", and all that. Don't worry 'bout it, just stand back.
  7. You are definitely not being closed minded, you are very smart to question these items. These items are unsanitary and unhealthy. When it comes to food a person must be very careful not to cause food poisoning, salmonella or a host of other food borne diseases. Not washing dishes properly and keeping leftover food more than 2 or 3 days is just inviting germs and bacteria. And to remain as healthy as possible it is important to be clean and as sanitary as possible. It is important to wash your hands often, using soap and water. The same goes for clothes, water alone is not going to clean them. Not to mention the fact that they will begin to really smell shortly. I don't know where your friend got this idea, but don't go along with it. If she doesn't get some kind of illness from this, she just may find herself short of friends when she begins to smell. It isn't mentioned here, but how many showers are allowed each week? Perhaps you can steer her to some place that will give her information that really can help the environment and keep her healthy at the same time.
