What do you think will be in the President's job plan?
I think there will be Stimulus #2 or a laundry list of funding for this and that. I personally think, it's too late for Obama to talk about jobs now. What happen to the promise that he would focus like a laser on the economy? It does take a long time for that laser to charge up - doesn't it? This president lost credibility long time ago when it comes to the economy - right when he pushed Obama Care ahead of the economy.
Public Comments
- Obamas laser only charges on dropping poll numbers.
- it will be a whole lot of what we NEED to do but little of what is possible if left up to republicans ,
- Infrastructure spending. Payroll tax holiday. Tax credits for hiring. Green jobs. The perfect Keynesian list. And none of it will work. What should be in it? Regulatory moratorium and reform of the tax code.
- Here is a preview. http://articles.cnn.com/2008-11-22/politics/obama.economy_1_job-creation-economic-recovery-plan-jobs-next-year?_s=PM:POLITICS Some things never "change" and Obama's ideas are one of them. "Details of the plan are still being worked out by his economic team, Obama said, but he hopes to implement the plan shortly after taking office January 20." Sound familiar?
- When I heard him say he had a definite way to turn around the economy, create jobs, and get the country going again, I thought he could only be saying thing. "I quit!"
- It doesn't really matter. The House will say 'NO', then after a few weeks will pass a bill, send it to the Senate. The Senate will reject that and send it back to the House.
- As pointed out, more spending (increasing debt/deficit spending), more tax deductions and credits (decreasing revenue). As for the tax credits for hiring: the proposal is $5K for each new hiree. Sounds good, but I can't justify hiring if there's no demand for my goods and services. What he proposes is unsustainable and shows complete lack of experience and understanding. Purely from a business proposition, this is what you get when you hire someone who has a completely blank resume to run the largest corporation in the world.
