So Callan Ward is going to GWS next season woop dee do. is that the best they can doo?

I know we have had Luke Power in the news about his playing career. & whether it has really ended. but what is the real truth here. most of what im hearing with regards to players, such as him. moving to GWS to play. is pure speculation at best. One thing you can be guaranteed. is that young Dogs gun Callan Ward. will be a Giant next season. because the money is to good for him to refuse. I just wonder what Kevin Sheedy does have planned for this new club. because the talent is drying up.+why are the neighbouring NRL clubs worrying. when he is the only player committed to play for this new club next season? The Giants have 10,000 new members for the clubs launch in 2012. this may sound like a lot. but in an area as large as this club takes in. that's nothing really. so you have to wonder who are they going to get. in the way of a big name player to the club. to have the appeal for people to come & watch their games? What is Sheedes up too. he must have more than this player on his list for next season surly? I hate to say it but. its almost getting like "scooby doo where you"! you know the rest. cheers.

  1. I think after the whole affair with adelaide earlier this season they are trying to keep it all close to their chest and doing a fantastic job of that. they will have more of that im certain but none of the players will announce that til the end of the season
  2. Sheedy's last few years at Essendon, he was thought to have a few tricks up his sleeve, while in reality he didn't. Actually he's totally unprepared for this situation , having had an armchair ride over his last several years with the Bombers. I'm not saying he's not a good coach, but he could well be outdated too. How many 60 yo coaches or even 50 yo coaches do we se in today's game. A guy like Guy Mc Kenna served a 15 year apprenticeship and might be more suited to a development role than Sheeds..that's my rant. Luke Power wouldn't be a bad choice to lead this club for a year or two, but realistically he might have been better staying at Brisbane, taking his chances on selection. They will get players, It's inevitable they will sign a few, and they will get a few delisted or out of contract players...but the club is on a fast road to nowhere. The 10,000 members is a figure that is pull out of the air. Some of those are commitments only and some others are corporate level, like sponsors, who might not even attend the games. For me it's dead scary..the other thing that will go against them is that the opposing clubs, playing away in Sydney, will have no fan base to boost the numbers. Not like on the Gold Coast, where plenty of footy fans are already living. Hard times ahead. However as for signing players and putting a recognisable side on the ground, I reckon they can do that. Scooby was funny...but the AFL might not see the joke when they fail to win a game...that's what I see.
  3. Israel Folau's the best they can do. And no, Shifty, we are not worried, despite what king idiot, Gus Gould thinks
  4. no the best they can do is recruit my son Holy Jesus Christ
