Please help! Having problems with EBAY? How do you sell things on ebay?

I have posted several things on ebay, but I have only sold Two things recently, the other 40 items I have on there have not sold! What could I be doing wrong? I know there are a lot of people making Thousands of dollars a month and even quiting their jobs, because they are making so much money on ebay. One item I sold was a Scientific calculator. I paid $10 for it and it is still new in the box. You can do basic math, Algebra and even Trig on this calculator. The first time I listed it, I put the calculator on for $11.00 starting bid, that way I would at least make a minimum of $1.00 profit. But no one bid on it at all! So just for an experiment, I re-listed it for 2.99. Someone bought it for that price! I can not make a living like that, I am going to lose money if I list things for less than I paid. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to make my listings better, so they actually will sell and make me a little bit of a profit? I have also tried selling some things like cloths and books that people say will sell very easily, and use low prices and they are not selling either. how can I fix that?

2. um!! you should have enough items for selling, list more ads on ebay, some are buy it now ads, and some are auction. Auction ads price should be low, and you'd better list 7days, then more and more people will find your ebay store and view other items in your store! For buy it now ads, the price should be high, and you can see the price of other ebay seller who sell the same items with you, then you can fix a price lower than theirs, but never lose money for you. If you can't fix a price that lower than others and you never lose money, it means that you have paid high price when you buy the item, it is not good!! You have to find new supplier!!
