When using the exact definition from the dictionary in a essay, do i need to include it in my works cited page

To begin a paragraph, i gave the definition of "dance" exactly as in the dictionary. We are required to lists works cited at the end of the essay, so should i include the dictionary? And how do i do it?

  1. YES! Anything quoted exactly must be given credit on the work cited page. Otherwise it's plagerism.
  2. you should, however if you could find that definition in a website you used you wouldn't have to add the dictionary
  3. If you are writing in MLA you will also need to make sure you say the page number when you cite it after the quote as well. Like (Webster 2008, pg. 100). You only give the page number if you use quotes.
