- my god these words are really "malalim" :/ *breaks out dictionary* elehiya = elegy oda = ode sonets should actually be soneto = sonnet dalit = hymn awiting bayan = folk song pastoral = pastoral (like a pastoral hymn maybe? since i'm sensing a pattern here...) balad = ballad epiko = epic poetry (those long long long poems...) tula sinta = love poem <3 tula kata = ? tula gunam = ? (0 hits on google... are you sure you spelled it right?) tula bunyi = ? i think this is a bahasa melayu term??? on google i only see malaysian sites... balagtasan = a poetical debate... lol. hard to explain... read this if you like: http://repositories.cdlib.org/international/uclacseas/colloquium/Balagtasan/ duplo = another type of poetical game much like the one above. karagatan = it means a really really really really really huge body of water. OR it's a type of literary form presented in the form of a play to amuse a bereaved family. trahedya = tragedy filipinos are very poetic people. .__.
- the answers to these are answered already anyway but... i think some of them are in a different language or probably in 'bisaya' which i don't know how to speak since i'm from manila... ^.^ balagtasan is kinda lyk an argument using poetry... =) We had one when I was in grade 6 & we won! =) 'karagatan' is 'ocean' ... 'sea' is 'dagat' ... 'river' is 'ilog' 'tula' means 'poem'... i've never heard of 'tula kata', 'tula gunam' or 'tula bunyi' before...
