  1. Women can do any non-combat role--you can't be in the combat infantry, but nurse or drill instructor or computer technician or anything else you can think of are fine. There are minimum and maximum height and weight requirements, but 5'7'' is a very normal size and your health matters more than your actual weight. (It's very possible to be well under the weight limit but not perform well enough physically.) Note that women are allowed to fly as well as be on submarines and ships, even though you can see combat in those jobs. And certainly, you might end up in combat even if it's not your job.
  2. Medical field, intelligence, or other desk job.
  3. Well you definitely have to be healthy and fit. Women still go through bootcamp for the military. I guess you can do anything the men can do, except the combat stuff. Women can't be on the front lines because we make the babies and men don't want to see their ladies dying :)
  4. Women can do any non-combat job. You need to have atleast a BSN to become a nurse in the military. There are certain weight and height requirements. You'll probably want to be a 68W, healthcare specialist to prepare you then use the GI bill to become a nurse.
  5. You can do any job in the Military except Combat Arms. You can serve in a Combat Arms units as support. If you want to become a nurse, then pursue the Medical field. Its better to get training in that job to help you in the future. I know for sure your do not meet the Height and Weight standards for any branch at the moment. My suggestion would be to work on losing a few pounds. In the mean-time i would continue my education and work on a degree. Good luck to you.
  6. http://www.military.com/Recruiting/Content/0,13898,rec_step07_hw,,00.html Most jobs in the Military are open to you excluding direct combat and spec ops. However, I recommend that you click on the above link and check out the height/weight requirements. At the present time you are under tall for your weight. As far as nursing goes, that is a direct commission thing. That means you have to be a nurse to join as a nurse.
  7. You can do almost anything you want depending upon your ASVAB scores. As far as your weight, to be honest you have a Body Mass Index of 31 you need to be at 25. Drop some of the excess weight and best of luck to you. SFC US Army Retired
  8. Any jobs excluding infantry
  9. You can do anything except combat arms--if you want to be a nurse you should go to Army or Navy. In the USMC the max weight for a woman that's 5'7" is somewhere around 160lbs and I don't think it's too different for the other branches. You need to lose a good bit of weight before you think about joining.
  10. make me a sandwich
  11. first off your over weight for the military ( no offense ) but with your height im guessing they will want you at around 170 or lower. im 6'2 and my max weight that i can be is 210. hit the gym worry bout the job later
  12. Pretty much anything you want........in the Coast Guard. All Rating are open to all genders. Certain Ships are Male only, but the larger the vessel the more opertunities for Females to get on.
