Can't connect to internet on Windows 7 partition ,but have connection?

I have a dual boot partition consisting of Linux Mint and Windows 7. The laptop I have is an hp dv6-1149wm. I can connect to a network but can't connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet on Linux. When troubleshooting I get ip-map invalid. I tried reinstalling the drivers and this failed. The internet *did work before on Win7. Can anyone list some possible solutions to my conundrum?

1. I would double check what the default gateway is set correctly, and that the network does not have more than one device handing out DHCP leases. (Like more that one router than is in the default gateway mode.
