Could you help me with Keeping Snakes, Lizards, and Salamanders as pets for the Beginner to the Experienced?

Could you give me a list of all the pet lizards, snakes, and salamanders that are commonly kept as pets from the beginners perspective to the experienced from the common to the rare and some caresheets. I know that i've said I only wanted to start a reptile collection with just snakes, iguanas, and monitors/tegus but i've made a decision as to do one with all species of snakes, lizards and salamanders depending on what species are legal in my state of cali, how much money I will have (saving money and getting a job!) and where they'll will be housed, etc. i'm going to take good care of them and i've made a deal with the parents saying that i'll be the one paying and taking care of all of them and they are cool with it as they know I want to work with animals when i'm older and i'm 16yrs old btw and they agreed to help me take them to the vet when needed. thanks.

  1. I'm gonna refer you to my bible- kingsnake.com, this website has care sheets on pretty much every pet reptile and will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about giving your new pet the best care possible. Having said that, I've owned a few reptiles and I would really suggest the following as "beginners": juvenile ball pythons (juvenile because they are so much easier to handle and raise when you've been in their life longer), leopard geckos, anoles and aquatic turtles. I'm sure whatever pet you chose will have a great life since you're so eager to give it everything it needs and wants and that's great that your parents are willing to help with vet bills- exotic vets aren't cheap.
