Christmas... do you have any alternatives to celebrating Christmas.?
There are 8 of us...adults... children and in-laws. Money is short. We usually make wish lists...but this seems unrealistic since there are 2 babies on the way. We need something: generous, loving, creative, etc. to make our Christmas special. Any ideas?????? Please help.

- provide gifts for children and adults either make something for each other or go to dollar store and look for something. Put your money into celebration food and alcohol (if You drink) I think many families are in same boat
- its not the presents that are the best part of christmas its the traditions like decorating the tree, watching christmas movies and being close to the ones you love...you could take your family taboganing if you have snow or get togethor listenin toi some christmas music and watch christmas specials... most people cant remeber the gifts they got on christmas its usually the traditions and memories they remeber, hope everything goes well merry christmas:)
- Thrift shops. THat is how I used to do it, and baking together with the kids, cutting out paper snowflakes, make a ginger bread house, borrow holiday movies from the library or net flicks. Make your own advent calendar. games, either board games or other fun silly games the family can play together or even holiday themed word games, twenty questions etc. attend a Christmas church svc together.
- Make wish lists but ask that they not be wishes for things people want but things they are willing to do for someone - may be two or three. Offer to help with the chores, a morning smile, breakfast in bed, even just a big hug, taking for a walk, to let them chose the TV programs for an evening and so on. Put the offers in a hat. People draw them out and the person who wrote it does the thing for them.
- Υes.
