What should I pack for California in the fall/winter?

I am going to California, specifically the Santa Barbara area, and i need a list of what to pack from toiletries, to clothes, to stuff to do in the car. By the way im 17 years old.

Santa Barbara can be quite casual - but take at least one 'nice outfit'. Take all your electronic stuff for the car. Failing that - actually look at the scenery as you ride.
