im a manager on salary. my schedule says 60 hrs, but i work 80. can i get paid overtime?
I work for a corp franchise who are known for shady business. However our district mgr gets wild hairs up his ass whenever he feels like it and makes us work 6-7 days!! And on top of that makes us use our personal vehicles to make bank runs 45mins on the other side of town without compensation on gas. I recently got a ticket for speeding because he called to tell me to hurry up. I asked if i could get compensated for the gas and he looked at me like I just asked him for a raise. I only am supposed 60hrs a week. I work 80+ a week. can he make us work that way with no overtime. We dont receive any benefits at all and he refuses to give us our vacation.

- That depends on what your contract says. If your contract states that you can get paid overtime, then yes. If it doesn't, then no. Most of the time salaried individuals do not get overtime, only hourly workers do. But even then, it is at the discretion of the company whether they want to offer OT to salaried workers as well.
- my mother had the same trouble, and no, if your salary, u wont ever get paid for overtime, and the company uses this to their advantage, if possible i would ask if you can step down to a lower pay but hourly wage, (like assistance manager) and most likely they will cut a few hours so you have some time off, or u will actually earn more money, because u would get paid overtime
