Can you burn a DVD with windows media player to play on tv?

If so, I was wondering if I did it the right way. First I put in a blank DVD, drug my videos to the burn list then clicked burn. I've never did this so did i do it the right way?

1. i am afraid you can't do it with windows media player, you can use a dvd burner to burn dvd to video formats that you want.
