How to convince my parents to let me start Cyber-school?
I really want to go... I'm in 8th grade, and I'm trying to convince my parents, (especially my dad) to let TRY cyber-school. I really don't see what's so wrong with it....? Why is it so difficult for them to let me try it? Do they think there is something wrong with cyber-school?? Anyways, can you list out some reasons or something to help me persuade them?

- I'm a freshmen, and I really wanted to do this last year, but I couldn't find a good school. anyways, the big problem with cyberschool is that you aren't interacting with people. even though it doesn't seem like you talk to people much at school, you do, and you can tell the kids that were home schooled because they don't know how to talk to people. this is probably the biggest reason they won't let you, so to compromise join some other group like a sports team or something.
- Yes, homeschooled children cower all day under the table sucking their thumbs, because they never get to see other live, human beings. It's completely obvious when you try to pick them out of a crowd; the well-adjusted, clean, intelligent and vibrant kids are those who have attended REGULAR, NORMAL school from Kindergarten up. 'Cause g-d knows a REGULAR, NORMAL school couldn't possibly churn out a single child who appears nervous, awkward, clumsy, socially inept, or who is so anti-socially warped that they start picking off their fellow students with automatic weapons. </sarcasm> Figure out what their real objection is. "You can't get into college." "You'll be a social mess." "Seriously, I'm not quitting my job to be your teacher." "I don't want you underfoot all day." It may not be anything you're even thinking of. Research it, know your facts, have something to say for each objection. See how far you can get. Homeschooling books, getting into college, etc: www.wagnerweb.org/Homeschool_101
