  1. i think the movies you trying to watch are old and i haven't seen them? not offense. i will watch the pussy with boots, 10 things i hate about you this one is old but still a good movie, harry potter and the dealthy part 2,. the insider is good though.
  2. I want to finally watch Shoeshine. I can't say I'm excited about it, but I deeply want to see it. BQ2: Rocky and the Insider are two excellent movies. Sensational. Frida is kind of a vanity project, but I was glad I saw it. It made me feel bad for Diego Rivera, though, which I don't think was its intended effect! Oh, I really want to see Elephant. I never did because it seemed to sad for me. Have a good weekend! *too
  3. I'm watching Alfred Hitchcock movies
  4. Planning to see one of Christopher Nolan's favorite movies, vis-a-vis Topkapi this weekend. Also Apocalypse Now and American History X. BA: Yes, Double Indemnity is on my list. BA2: I found Frida very sad. Good movie. Rocky and Mississipi Burning are classics.
  5. I'm going to have a foreign movie marathon. Based on a question a asked a couple of days ago, I've decided to watch these films: Old Boy Jules and Jim Vagabond Fist in the Pocket The Waves Amelie BQ: I'm actually pretty intrigued by all the movies I mentioned. BQ2: Rocky is a classic, of course. Mississippi Burning isn't anything special, but it's worth at least one viewing. A Bronx Tale is really a great movie, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I didn't really care for Elephant, but I know some people who did, so you might like it. The rest I haven't seen, I hope they're good.
  6. I still have a project to finish.... but as always I drag it along until the last minute :P Platoon Full Metal Jacket Das Boot BA: all three of them... BA 2: None. I wanted to see "Frida" when it came out but some of the promo pics scared me :D I was 12 back then... You too...
  7. dorothy mills fright night
  8. HI MJ :) The Debt (2010) - recommendation from Dr. Manhattan The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) BA : I am enthu about The Debt, keeping my mind open for Royal Tenenbaums :) BA2 : I have watched Frida, Rocky, The Insider, Finding Forrester out of these, but all quite a long time ago, so don't want to pass any ambigous verdicts...lol...have a fab weekend :)
  9. 5 Movies in 3 Days. Almost all Classics.. BQ: - 12 Angry Men (1957) - #6 on IMDB "Top 250" ( embarrassed I haven't seen this). - Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) - Won 5 Oscars in 1980, The year I was Born. - The Deer Hunter (1978) - A rewatch. Cimino ( the director) gave up the career too early in many peoples opinion. Also, rumors floated around about a sex change. But the guy is a genius. - The High Cost of Living - I like Zach Braff. Unexcited. - Citizen Ruth - Alexander Payne's first full feature film. BQ2: -Frida - Ambitious film. -Rocky - Classic -Mississipi Burning - n/a -The Insider - Crowe was excellent. He transformed his body and look for the role, but Kevin Spacey deserved the Oscar that year. IMO. And Michael Mann is one of the best. -A Bronx Tale- A De Niro directed film. -Finding Forrester- n/a -Elephant (2003) - I liked this movie. It stayed with me for awhile. Slow beginning, but the end is haunting. IMO. A Gus Van Sant directed film. Have a good weekend!!
  10. Oh lucky you! I have work to do this weekend, but I'm sure I'll be able to fit a couple in, I've got a few DVD's I haven't watched In a while so I think I'll watch - Se7en - American Psycho (never seen that one, still unopened) BQ: Nope BQ2: No, none, can you recommend any?
  11. Schools nearly over so I have a lot of spare time on my hands now since all assignments/exams are done and dusted. I recently rented "Enter The Void" after hearing the critical acclaim that it has received from multiple critics, viewers and online communities in general. "District 9" is another movie and that I plan to watch for basically the same reasons as "Enter The Void" and hopefully they both live up to their reputation unlike some movies that I considered hideously over hyped (eg. "The Exorcist"). Those two movies are the two movies that I plan on watching throughout the weekend along with the movie "Scary Movie" in the hope of a few laughs. BQ: "The Godfather" is a movie that I plan on watching, but the sheer length of the film is a monolith within itself which is putting me off of it. Another movie that I want to see but I fear is over hyped is "Slumdog Millionaire". I saw the first 5 or so minutes of it and it seems like a purely amazing movie that deserves the accolades it receives, but I don't know if it will live up to it's hype, as the aforementioned "The Exorcist" didn't. BQ2: I know this will sound a bit disappointing, but the only movie that I've heard of on your list is "Rocky". I haven't even seen that either. To make it up to you, I'll give you a really good song to listen to. It's the theme song from "Scrubs"; "Superman" by Lazlo Bane, hope you enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMV8L8Jl-cw Edit: Hope you have a good weekend too Suicidal Ice Cream Truck Driver :D
  12. I have seen most the movies on your list and like them all, but have not seen Finding Forrester and Frida, so with that , I intend to watch those 2 and gather up some for the week end and let you know which ones BQ No, I am excited to watch all of the movies I plan to watch, that is until I get into one that bores me Have a good weekend ((MJ))
  13. A Bronx Tale is a masterpiece, not sure if you would like it though. The Insider is also fantastic. I'm trying to go see Hugo in theaters, but other then that I'm probably gonna try to watch Bridesmaids, Hall Pass, or Election (which I've seen). I have barely any time compared to what I used to, so I'd be lucky to even fit one of them in BQ- lol there has been in the past. not sure about now though BQ2- already talked about The Insider and A Bronx Tale... Rocky- obviously a classic, but shouldn't have won Best Picture over Taxi Driver, come on now Mississipi Burning- pretty good Finding Forrester- pretty good as well, haven't seen this movie in sooooo long though. Connery is great Elephant (2003)- one of Gus Van Sant's better films
