Latest Lists

Where can I find official information on American companies like shareholders etc. is there an official list?

Official information on different companies on an official site like Chamber of Commerce or Trade Register. I don't know if there is an official site were all these firms are registered or do I have to search for different companies in different states. I know there are business directories but I dont't know which are the most comprehensive of all for USA.

Public Comments

  1. Yahoo Finance. Only public companies divulge such information.
  2. For public companies in The US, filings are made to the security and exchange commission (SEC) and can be accessed at www.sec.gov/edgar. In Canada Sedar at www.sedaredgar.com/ is a similar service. The Public files made to these organizations will show major shareholders and other information on the company's business and management. If you want a complete shareholder listing of public companies, I believe once you become a shareholder yourself, that most jurisdictions give you the right to look at a complete list by asking the particular company in which you might be interested.
  3. You can buy reports from Dun & Bradstreet...www.dnb.com. They are not cheap and are about $200+ per comprehensive report.
