What are your favorite things to do at DisneyWold in Orlando Fl?

Hello I'm 22 and am just now going to DisneyWorld for the first time Christmas day. It's my Fiance's gift to me for graduating LPN school and passing my boards. I just want to know some of your favorite things to do as far as rides and places that would appeal to someone my age. I already know the only princess related thing I'm going to want to do is see Cinderella's castle and meet tiana bc she made history (I hope she's actually black and not some chick that only passes as black) anywho please give me your list of favorites (foods, clubs, stores, shows, rides etc) PS. I'm uber excited!!! Oh also I prefer personal experiences bc I can go to the website and browse millions of things to do..

  1. Epcot
  2. I like everything at Disney, honestly. I will go on EVERY ride, whether it is meant for my age (26) or not. It is a place to escape the confines of being an adult. You can be a kid again, and it is great. At Magic Kingdom, definitely do Splash Mountain. It's my absolute FAVORITE ride at MK. I love it. You *may* get wet. The last few times I've been on it, the ride has gotten out of sync and backed up, and when that happens, the Log Cars get backed up after the "big drop." You don't even get wet because of the "big drop" at all. You get wet because of OTHER cars coming down the big drop. So, make sure you've got some kind of protection, or you'll be wet. And, on Christmas Day, it will be EXTREMELY busy, so you definitely can't leave to change your clothes... Make it your last ride of the day if that happens. In Epcot, check out the Coke store, called "Club Cool". It is in the Innoventions Pavilion. They have a bunch of different Coca-Cola products from around the world. (Watch out for the "Beverley" branded drink from Italy. Make sure that isn't your LAST drink...) My favorite is the Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica, and Lift Apple from Mexico. It's definitely neat (and it is a good way to get a free drink when you're nice and thirsty.) Definitely do Test Track at Epcot, too. That is my favorite ride at Epcot.
  3. Well, if I told you all of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World, you'd be here a long time. There are millions of wonderful things to do, you'll never be bored, and you'll have a blast. However, you are going on the one day of the year that the place will be overly packed. All I'm saying, get there early. We went to Walt Disney World over Memorial Day weekend for the past couple years and they've actually shut the gates to the Magic Kingdom a few times, due to it being at it's maximum capacity. Therefore, I figure it'll be a lot worse during the time you'll be there. Also, the women that play the role as Tiana throughout the park, are in fact, black. Have fun!
  4. By far, my absolute favorite area to visit is the World Showcase in EPCOT... this is where all the international countries are located...each country is so beautifully detailed and I love the fact that each person working there are actually native to that particular country (here on a temporary work visa), and if you look at their name tags it will state which city or region they are from... they are very open and friendly and i enjoy talking with them and learning more about their homeland. I love how when you enter the Aztec pyramid in Mexico you walk into an "outdoor" Mexican market place, and Morocco way in the back has so many interesting knick knacks and boho-type merchandise, and France's boulangerie patisserie and their wine shop are really cozy and comfortable...i love to sit in their back area, cuz i feel like i'm in Paris.. ...so for these reasons and many, many more is why World Showcase is my favorite of all favorites. ...my favorite Disney restaurants are also in the World Showcase - Les Chefs de France (france), Le Celliar (canada), Teppan Edo (japan), Biergarten (germany)... all wonderful, but expensive. ...you can look up allears.net http://allears.net/din/dining.htm and click "the menus" on the left of the page and you can check prices and also read customer reviews as well. ...rides... EPCOT: Living with the Land boat ride, it's agriculturally educational and i love going thru their awesome green house... Soarin' is also really neat, it's like you're hang gliding. ...and I think some people find it boring, but I love Spaceship Earth...also the nemo ride is adorable...and watch the "Circle of Life" environmental show starring Timon and Pumbaa, it's really cute and educational. MAGIC KINGDOM: Haunted Mansion, Carousel of Progress (one of Walt's originals :) , Winnie the Pooh ride (so cute!), Splash Mountain (so happy!), Swiss Family Robinson tree house (so tiring...but really cool). HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: Tower of Terror (awesome theme, fun ride), Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Beauty and the Beast show (so sweet), i think it's called "great moments with Walt Disney" or something like that, and it's really interesting and endearing. ANIMAL KINGDOM: Kilimanjaro Safari (go as early in the morning as possible hopefully the lions will be awake), Kali River Rapids (wet!), Lion King Stage show (mesmerizing), and just walk around and enjoy all the little details in the park, like the parrots, all the continents like Africa and Asia...oh i almost forgot, i love the Maharajah Jungle Trek..it's a really interesting walking trek. ...oh, and congratulations on passing your boards...3 cheers for nurses! hip hip hooray! hip hip hooray! hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! ...thank you for caring for others.
  5. Congratulations, you deserve a nice trip! :) I'll admit it...I love the rides in Fantasyland like "It's a Small World" and "Peter Pan's Flight." On Christmas day they might not be so lovely though. If you go, get there before the official opening time and head to whatever you want to do most. But first, find the character location guide (usually on Main Street) and see where/when Princess Tiana will be for the day. Guest relations in City Hall can help too, most princesses don't stand around in one place too long. Actually I would check all the parks when you enter, you never know where characters without a permanent "home" will pop up. Oh, and if you like frozen stuff try the Dole Whip near the entrance to Adventureland. If you make it to Epcot, that's probably my favorite "adult" place. The boat ride in Norway is cute, and there is a fountain show (not to be confused with the evening show, Illuminations) in Future World that I find fascinating. If you don't have reservations for a sit-down restaurant try the counter-service places around the World Showcase. It's a good way to try out the cuisine without investing $20 and an hour of your time. Princess Tiana really is black, no passing there lol.
