Im going to leave college once i get an apprentice i have got a huge list of restaurants i going to ask at I love cooking at home, i have a huge interest in cooking books and shows on TV. Will an apprenticeship help me to become an even better cook? As i research deeper into this subject of whats its like being a chef there are no pros but isnt that with any job? - Poop stains.
- Well kid you need to pray to God and he will tell you what you need to do. Also be good this year so i can bring you gifts and not coal!
- Funny , I'm 17, and I love cooking too. I def want to do something in the culinary field. If you want to chat about it, my email address is foderakatie@yahoo.com.
- Go interview a chef and see what he or she says. Be sure to write a thank you note after the interview.
- If you want to start a cheffing career I would advise to do a college course or apprenticeship maybe even start as someone who washes dishes then work your way up. However ask yourself these things. Could you work every weekend? possibly working to 10-11pm at night? Could you work every bank holiday and potentially working Christmas eve, boxing day and over the new years? could you handle doing 45-50hours a week in a busy restaurant and would you be happy being on £12000-£14500 GBP or equivalent to where you live until qualified? if so then go for it. Its a rewarding job when you learn how to cook amazing food and when you hear customers saying how fantastic the food is. You could potentially earn £30k + Being a head chef (UK money)
