do not hire list is it legal?

i am on a do not hire list from a company for taking a former company to court for wages owe to me.

  1. That could be considered discrimination, but whether or not it is is up to a court.
  2. It is discrimination but it is not illegal discrimination. Having taken a former company to court does not put you in a protected category. If you were on a "do not hire" list because of your race, gender, sexual orientation, etc..., then it would be illegal. Their knowledge of your taking a former company to court leads them to believe that you may easily take another company to court, therefore posing a bit of a risk. I would not mention it in future interviews. Good luck
