How do I find a survivor report for a plane crash from WWII in 1944?

I am looking for a crash of a plane with serial number 100693. There were two survivors. One wrote a survivor report. How do I get access to this? I already have the crash report, it doesn't list a reason for the crash, I would like to know what it was.

1. If it was an Army Air Forces aircraft, write to the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB.. If it was a Navy / USMC aircraft, write to the Naval History Office at the Navy Yard in Baltimore. .
2. Besides the Historical Services, there are a couple of websites the offer the search; I found a B17 crash that occurred on my Mom's farm when she was 10 (1944).
