Business loan was paid off to an individual and not getting any response in writing.?

I had a loan related to a business purchase about 3 years ago. Business name and my name were listed as a debtor in Uniform Commercial Code of New York State. 5 Months ago, I paid off and asked for a letter that all debts were paid off. I've asked a number of times by phone & letter without getting any good response. My name is still shown on UCC report. I am concern that this kind of information would hurt my credit and make difficult for me to get another loan later time. My questions are: 1) Where and what kind of legal action I can do to clear off my record WITHOUT lawyer ? 2) Anything I can ask for compensation for this kind of negligence? It's been causing me a great deal of pressure and burden which I am supposed to be free from those, instead. I'd appreciate your advice in advance. 1. You can ask a lawyer to write a letter for you letting them know that you require a receipt. He/She will be able to put it into convincing words to make them respond.
