So far I have tried: the newspaper Craig's List business cards Service Magic

- Direct mail to building contractors in the area. Business cards at local hardware, electrical, building supply stores. radio TV sponsor a kids baseball/football/soccer/basketball team
- There are so many of them out there, you are a needle in the haystack until you put yourself out there. Networking is key...join any associations available out there in addition to your local chamber and use your contacts. It will be slow at first, but building a reputation is key in any service business. My husband has his own painting business. I was skeptical as to whether it would make money, but after one or two jobs, the referrals came pouring in. With this type of work, people do not trust the phone book. They want to know you are good. So...network, and network a lot. Also, one of the things we did is to put flyers out to certain communities. Three years later, 95% of the business is referred and the remaining 5% is from advertising.
- Word of mouth and networking are going to be your two best and most solid ways of growing your company. I used to be co-owner of a Painting Company- and with out fail- these are the two things that grew our business.
- Tell everyone that your infant electricians wear rubber diapers. :-) Signs on telephone poles Magnetic signs on the side of your vehicle City Directories See what the Chamber of Commerce and SBA can tell you. How about property management companies as a potential source of business.
