What do you know about franchises?

Looking to invest, work and own my own franchise busineses, maybe in the food servise business. I'm taking an early retirement at 50 this year. I have 30 years of upper level sales management experience, dealing in CSI and ROI!! As a Director of sales and marketing for top consumer electronic company. I get well over a million. And have another million in net assets. I like people, sales and cooking, so what should I do and what is the projected lifestyle and income going to be like? Got any inside info on any franchises, especially in the food industry? Or where and how I can find out? Like Blogs, experts or websites.

1. With $2mil in assets, why do you want to spend your days mucking about in food? Take some tennis lessons, and buy a sailboat.
