I have a job interview and I am really nervous. How do I prepare?
This is for when people call the toll-free number to get service (cable or hight speed internet) hooked up and they get a representative at Cox Communications. I have 5 years telephone banking experience where people called toll-free number to get account bal. checks cleared etc. and/or if they needed a bank rep. they got me. I was very good at this job and the last two years in this position I cross sold bank products and was VERY successful at this. I was top seller in small business department 8 out of last 12 months (I took blend of consumer and small business callers). I remember saying I finally found something I was good at and that was SELLING. I really want this job with Cox Communications. Can you help me with this interview?

- Don't see where you need to be nervous, you are definitely qualified. Be yourself. You'll do fine.
- just relax..............be honest.................say the truth......and be straight forward while replying any question
- Chinese speaking to a Chinese operator? Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan ?? Operator : Yes, you can speak to me. Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan! Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this? Caller: I'm Sum Wan .And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent. Operator: I know u are someone and u want to talk to anyone! But? what's this urgent matter about? Caller: Well just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother,Noe Wan was involved in an accident. Noe Wan got? injured and now Noe Wan is being sent to the hospital. Right now,? Avery Wan is on his way to the hospital. Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital from the accident that isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this! ?Caller: You are so rude! Who are you? Operator: I'm Saw Lee. Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!
- It sounds like you are well qualified - you have dealt with people in the past extensively - so what are you worried about? Remember you have the experience.....answer questions thoroughly and honestly, taking time to think about your answers - be yourself - your experience will speak for itself. Good luck!
- just smile and look into the interviewer's eyes when talking. My teacher once told me to start off by saying everything about yourself straight away,to keep the interviewer interested and lean forward in your chair to show that you are interested. and remember,SMILE!:)
- if you think you're prepared and right for the job then I think you know what to say. Double check records. You may have forgotten things that happened that you dis/liked. Be prepared for questions like: What kind of worker do you consider yourself to be? You don't want to answer "a good one". Answer individually. Be creative!!! They will do that asking (job interview!) they know you are nervous, it's natural!
- The most imprtant thing in an inteview is to be very confident. Make sure that: 1) Your hand shake is firm 2) look at the person in the eyes when talking 3) let the person talk without interruption but make sure that you ask you own questions about the job and the company. This will show them that you mean business 4) They will ask you about what you did and how you've handled some of the situations. Make sure that you give specific answeres and always be sure of yourself. 5) They might ask you one thing that you would change about yourself. Be prepared. 6) They might ask you one good quality about your self. Also be prepared. 7) It is important to know how you can sell yourself without going overboard. Other then that, try to be natural and you should not have a problem. Good Luck!
- Relax... Think positive.. relate with your inner peace!! You can do it! if u get nervous just remember someone is here hoping you will get the job im here.. caring!! Good luck!! im sure ull get it!!!
- Know a little about them...and have questions ready for them, not about vacation policies or dress code, but about what they do. Many interviewers like to ask situational questions... Tell me about a situation when you pleased a customer... Tell me about a situation when a customer was angry... Tell me about a situation when you disagreed with a staff member... Have answers in your arsenal for stuff like that, and spin the negative into positive outcomes...pick situations that make you look good. Also, have the "what is something negative people might say about you..." be a win win for them. "I get too focused or intense on projects" "I have too many customers that just want to deal with me." You are selling you, it is no time to be humble. BUt don't come off egomaniacal--there is a balance.
- Arrive early, dress appropriately, make eye contact and relax.
- try to think of questions they might ask and have answers prepared for them and once asked a question wait a couple of seconds before responding, like your thinking of the answer right there. Always take the opportunity to give positive examples of how you handled situations in the past if the question warrants it. At the very end of the interview take the oppotunity to thank them for the interview and say something like- " I know I can do a really good job for you as all my experience has me well prepared for this job ". Anything to that affect but the key is leaving them on a 'high' note so they will remember you as being outgoing and positive. GOOD LUCK
- Sounds like you've got both the experience and talent for the position... and being a good salesperson truly is a "talent". Make your entrance with a smile on your face, turn on your best phone voice and be confident about your skills. Reign in any nervous habits like fluttering hands and twitching feet and maintain eye contact. I have some nearly obsessive compulsive rituals that I carry out before an interview. I once had a major clothing malfunction right before an interview, so now I over-prepare. A back up ensemble, alternate shoes and at least three new pairs of pantyhose. I also decide how I'm going to do my make up and hair. Good luck! Hope you get the job and enjoy your new position.
