What do you think of using PR Web to give exposure to a new online baby boutique?

I have been told that Network Solutions and some PR agents use PR web as a way to introduce/advertise new online businesses. I have a baby boutique, and I was wondering if this would be an effective way to increase my Search Engine ranking and draw more attention to my site. I do not have alot of money to spend on advertising, and I am told that you get alot of "bang for your buck". They offer 3 different packages, one for $80, which is basic, one for $120, which gets you more, but I am not sure if it is worth it, and then finally one for $200, that is supposed to be the ultimate. You can also pay an extra $10 to have your press release moved to the top of the page when it is published, so people see yours first. What do you think? I am looking for ways to get more exposure to my site? Supposedly PR Web is the best there is?

  1. PR Web is ok. but i don't think that it suites your business. You can do it by yourself, start sending personal e-mails to people. Use the chatroom. Make a "Noise" about your business. the roll of the word of mouth is far better than advertising. Then, maybe you can go on PUBLICATION INSERTS, it is cheaper. Or instead, insert your flyers and/or leaflets on the credit card bills of your target market (target customers), say the young professional mothers about 25-35 years of age. The PRESS RELEASE is the best way to promote your boutique, just make sure that you are sending a NEWSWORTHY release so that the media will be interested on your story. hope it will help you. i am an advertising and public relations student here in the philippines
  2. I have seen a video tutorial from a well known internet guru use PR Web to generate traffic. The result is really impressive. My suggestion is, if you have sufficient Money, go for it or else just submit to Ezines articles etc. About other related internet Marketing strategy, you can see following blog http://internetmarketingtipsweb.blogspot.com/
  3. PRWeb is excellent, but make sure you go the $80.00 route so you can get into the news feeds of Google and Yahoo! - those two alone will bring a lot of benefit to your site in terms of traffic and a boost in your search engine rankings.
  4. Hi Stella I have used 300sub before with good results. Cant remember the site URL but it will come up with a google search. Try adding your sixpence worth with parent forums and the like. Its a great way to get free advertising and it will help you with ranking as well with the search engines. If you would like me to have a look at your site and maybe give you some tips e-mail me the URL. I would like to have a look. You can submit for free to the search engines and if you have done your homework right you can get some great results very quick. Linking is essential for good ranking along with Great Content. If you link out from your site you are telling the search engine you are willing to "share" your traffic. If you have related sites linking back to you that tells the search engine you have valuable content that other sites are willing to expose to their traffic. I hope this helps you some. Best of luck to you Shane uskiwi5@yahoo.com
  5. I'm not sure which is which, but you should pay for the press release with links to your website. If you are allowed to have linked keywords in the press release text to your site you should do it. Use your money wisely and spend the extra money when you have something big to announce. Don't spend the extra $ for things like announcing new employees and that type of thing. If other websites pick up the press release with the links, it can be worth its weight in Gold. Success with SEO greatly relies on new, fresh, targeted content, and what better mechanism to produce such content than a press release. Press releases today reach further than just the traditional wire distribution and appear on both company websites and online distribution media. These online media increase a company’s visibility but also provide valuable link building (link to link building step in SEO) opportunities – helping a company’s overall website SEO efforts.
