Is there a web site that provides free local mailing lists?

I am trying to get my name out as a new real estate agent. I would like to keep my farm area updated on real estate issues.

  1. Local chambers of commerce often list members. If they don't forbid using the addresses for commercial purposes, knock yourself out.
  2. Since you are dealing with a very select clientele, I think you might be better off if you actually purchased a mailing list. There are all sorts of ways you could define your mailing list parameters. Here are a few examples: - The names of those registering farm equipment - The names of those with property holding in excess of x-number of acres. - The names of those with a license to practice farming within a set x-mile radius of where you live. Too many direct mail marketers make the mistake of sending information to people with absolutely no interest whatsoever in a product or service. This is a huge waste of marketing dollars. The money you save purchasing a mailing list specifically targeted to your select customers could more than pay for itself in postage and printing savings. If I were you, I'd check with a direct mail firm and ask what other parameters you could use to target farmers or owners of farm property. A good mailing list - an accurate list with up-to-date names and addresses, should cost you anywhere around $100 per thousand names. Shop around. You don't have to use a local firm - a good number of mailing list vendors can be found online. Good luck.
