How do I add HTML into Sharepoint?

I want to add links into different parts of a microsoft sharepoint list but the HTML code doesnt work and only displays the address as a link, how do i change this so my link only says something like "more information". I tried various html codes and nothing works.

  1. If you are talking about adding a link into a textfield of the add/edit form, this is not really possible, but there are workarounds. Easiest: Enter the text, then line break then url, like this Please go here to access Yahoo: Yahoo: http://www.yahoo.com/ Another way you can do it is to add a hyperlink field to the list. Go to Site Settings, Modify Site Content, Customize the list, add a new hyperlink field. This only works if you have only one hyperlink, though.
  2. 1st which version r u using? 2 or 3 2nd do u mean in an announcement or a data list? if in announcement then in 3 it is so easy..the hyperlink icon (with chain) is there in 2 there is a trick: after u write and save the unfriendly link (url) edit it, by deleting some characters and adding ur new text inside the url text then save and test. then re-edit and delete all url leaving only ur friendly text if in a data list, there is a column type called hyperlink more.. u can have any html or whatever..try "Basic HTML Page type" in create new...etc i used old frontpage for old forms and all work u can add webpart pages with whatever content lrt me know what happened??? thanks PS try msd2d . com
