direct mail advertising..?

meanings of the ff: single post cards, 2 part postal card,broadsides,personal ltter,brochures and catalogs.. what r the mailing lists? -local sources of mailing list( customer and formr cus2mer,directories,newspaper, permits for housing construction) wha r the other sources of mailing list? -mailing list companies -mailing list brokers what r the relative cost of direct mail ads? -preparation of mailing list -maintenance of mailing list -stationery and postage pls.. i need to find a link where i can find all these stuffs.. hope u can help me.. i wud be glad to hear from u guys..^_^

1. you probably want to talk to someone who does this stuff for a living. the direct mail association (dma) could help. check out their website.
2. It's typically cheaper to develop the material to send yourself (i.e. letter, post card, whatever) than to have an ad agency do it, although an agency can usually do a better job. Now, as for to whom to send the stuff, check out www.infousa.com. They sell marketing lists for direct mail, phone banking, you name it. Give them the criteria you're looking for and they'll give you a list. Good stuff.
