Does Yahoo sell mailing lists? I have a Yahoo account I have never used in the 6 mos since I opened it, yet?

Yahoo Customer Care won't give me a direct answer to this simple question. I have gotten several spam emails to this new, unused Yahoo Mail account. The ID is unique too, so it would be difficult for anyone or anything to randomly generate the ID for a "lucky guess" type of spam email list.

1. The IT guy at work says Yahoo sells your personal info to third parties and does sell mailing lists. Since he is an IT guy I would assume he knows, but I honestly don't. It would be nice if Yahoo would address the issue rather than ignore your question.
2. No, they do not sell the mailing lists. Spammers can even reach unique addresses on their own by just trying every possible combination of letters. If you scroll down the page a little ways on the link below there's a section that addresses this issue.
