Home Health/Chore Care Business Advertising?
I was in home health care/chore care industruy for many years and now I have started my own business for the elderly however I am having a hard time finding good marketing tools to get many clients at once. Would investing in a mailing list be a good way to go-specific targets-how many names should I buy if so? Newspaper-I don't know how effective they are do people really read the classifieds anymore- I don't? I have flyers and things but don't know where I should post them and brochures and such. Just need some help and ideas on ways to target my specific clients(elderly and their family care givers) and how to go about doing in to get some results. Your help is appreciated! Heyteach those are all good ideas thanks! So would you think it would be good to invest in a targeted mailing list say 65-99 years old? Thanks!

- Things that occur to me include: Asking senior centers if you can leave brochures; putting ads in senior-targeting publications locally (example, some senior housing areas have their own newspaper or computer site that takes ads); radio--especially the ones that have significant senior populations listening; churches; talk to pharmacists--they know this population and the local market. Some might allow some flyers to be left there. Send info to assorted agencies that deal with seniors--Area Agency on Aging, food banks, etc. and see if you get lucky enough to have an employee respond to you with ideas or say they can allow you to leave materials or such there. You might be able to get lucky with one or two. See if anyone covers "new businesses" or such locally--TV, papers, etc. and would do a little segment on you. You can also see if any insurance companies that offer Medicare HMO plans will let you get on with them as SOME of those plans might consider a few days of such care worth offering to prevent folks from ending up at a skilled facility or with a nurse or CNA going to the home. Won't make much, but would get some word-of-mouth.
