What is the White House hiding ? RE: Harriet Myers ?

http://judiciary.house.gov/Printshop.aspx?Section=523 Link above > complete list of e-mails and correspondence collected by the house judiciary committee thus far, as well as an index of e-mails the white house has refused to provide. This is very lengthy but eye-opening in regards to the level of White House control over the DOJ. It outlines public response tactics, the specific plan for replacing USA's with minimal "cost to the white house". During these e-mails Harriet Myers has alot of contact with Alberto Gonzales, in regards to replacing USA's and how he should respond to any public calls or inquiries by congress. One of the USA's which were dismissed had an ongoing investigation of Karl Rove. A letter to Alberto Gonzales on that particular issue has still not been answered. Harriet Myers has the most correspondence on here.....some of these e-mails have redacted words......words like "the president", or "the white house" or, "Rove" may be removed in some of them. The executive branch has the authority to make appointments, and to dismiss attorneys....however, the DOJ is supposed to operate administratively seperate fromt he White House. "Seperation of power". This is the issue here. Most important is the firings are directly related to ongoing investigations into GOP members, so they are basically retaliatory firings....which is unethical and illegal.

  1. My mistake, but isn't the Dept of Justice part of the Executive branch and doesn't the President head up the Executive branch? Doesn't that mean the President controls the DOJ? Let's see, Myers was a judicial advisor in the White House to the President-------shouldn't she be in contact with Gonzales? And since Myers worked for the President, doesn't she have executive priviledge?
  2. This is one instance where the administration's insistence on deciding what information they will give out was a waste of energy and has caused them more problems than just giving out the info would have. There was nothing illegal about firing the attorneys. Clinton's administration fired all of them! But because this administration has fought giving out info, they now have more people vulnerable to perjury charges for lying to the Congress. All they would have had to do is say, "Yes, we fired them for political reasons" and they would have been perfectly safe. Now, they have to try to hide info to keep people like the AG from being charged with perjury.

  4. Yup it is Bush's fault, every bad thing that ever has happened is Bush's fault. He killed Elvis, caused Pearl Harbor, bombed the twin towers and was the shooter on the grassy knoll. Remember the media quoted "sources in the Bush Administration" He has a time machine, didn't you know that?
  5. Because, Harriet Myers, is only the tip of the iceberg of deceit through-out the Administration. They are afraid, if the Dems succeed at going after her, it will open the whole closet of Bush skeletons! HAVENONE - Why do you think "everything bad" is Bush's fault! Get a grip...He was doing cocaine and getting drunk when Elvis was killed, he couldn't have done that.....Does your nickname allude to what level of a clue you have? Have-none?
