3. Congratulations, most people are too afraid to do what you have done. You are on to a good start and learning. Here's a few tips: Untied States? Hey you must be dyslectic like me because you reversed the letters. It should read United States. Ok great idea and you have 16 members which is a good start. Think about publicity-should you rewrite the above? I see a lot of run on sentences. Remember TV uses the "sound bites." Do the same thing and write powerful statements that make people curious. People don't want to read a half page-right away they are thinking "what's in it for me?" By that time 95% have moved away from your homepage. Think in seconds-you only have a few seconds to grab your audiences attention. Marketing-someone else here touched on that-be sociable. You can start chatting with your customers and/or put posts in other Yahoo groups. Branding: Why is your business different than others? Are you better, cheaper, faster etc? You want to brand your business so it's on everyone's tongue. Free information-give out free information like articles you found on the web (example "how to be a better shopper") to not only attract but KEEP your customers. Reward your customers-even if it's just a thank you letter. Better yet figure out some credit system-the more they buy the more they get example. Ask other moderators/groups owners that you admire for tips. Also research other websites and find out what's out there. What are THEY doing to attract customers? Good luck!!!
