Can you prove the Media is not liberal bias?

Show After Show, MSNBC Smears Limbaugh with 'Phony Soldiers' Distortion By Brent Baker | September 28, 2007 - 22:56 ET All day Friday, even after Rush Limbaugh corrected the misinformation, MSNBC promoted a story fed to them by the far-left Media Matters about how Rush Limbaugh, on Thursday, had called military personnel who served in Iraq and oppose the war “phony soldiers.” Limbaugh opened his noon EDT radio show on Friday by explaining how he was referring not to any real soldier but a phony one, notably Jesse MacBeth, who became a hero to the left when he recounted how his Army unit murdered innocent Iraqis. In fact, he hadn't even completed basic training. Nonetheless, MSNBC headlined a 4pm EDT segment “'PHONY SOLDIERS' INSULT; Rush Limbaugh: U.S. Troops Who Oppose Iraq War are 'Phony.'” Anchor Tamron Hall asserted: “Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh never served in the armed forces, so when he made the following comments about Iraq War veterans who return home to oppose the war, it set off a firestorm of outrage.” Hall ran a clip of Limbaugh saying it is Democrats who need to apologize for insulting the troops, but failed to relay Limbaugh's explanation of who he said was “phony.” Pairing it with MoveOn's “General Betray Us” ad, retired Colonel Jack Jacobs called it “stupid talk” and suggested those in the military “would like people who don't know what they're talking about to just shut up.” At the top of the next hour, Chris Matthews teased Hardball: “Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh says veterans who support withdrawing the troops are 'phony soldiers.' Those are his words.” A guest charged Limbaugh “didn't go to Vietnam because he had a bump on his butt. So, I mean, this guy's a draft-dodger.” Then at 8pm EDT, with “Limbaugh Bashes Vets for Withdrawal” on screen, and briefly “...Phony Soldiers...” over video of Limbaugh, Keith Olbermann teased Countdown: “Comedian Rush Limbaugh tries to back out of his quote: Servicemen protesting the war are quote, 'phony soldiers.'” The Anatomy of a Smear: "Phony Soldiers" Is a Phony Story http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_092807/content/01125106.guest.html

Public Comments

  1. They always take things out of context, trying to prove their pathetic point. Heck, if President Bush said "stupid" and "liberals" in one sentence, it would be all over the news for weeks.
  2. As if the exact same thing doesn't happen on Faux News regarding some democratic figure / politiican...Puhh-Leeze.
  3. Nope But let them have TV and Propaganda! We have Fox and the air! Just ignore them! we only need 1 TV channel because enough people actually support FOX the left needs a million because they need to cover 90% of the news channels in hopes that someone might see it! EXACTLY why the left cant hold a Air wave show!
  4. Yes, and they will admit it. This was an easy one.
  5. I wouldn't call Rush Limbaugh exactly unbiased.
  6. anything to keep Hildabeast tainted money story about doing Chinese men on the side for 5 dolla donations off the front page! NEXT!!!
  7. 6 conglomerates own 90% of all media in America, Now how in the hell would a corporation be "liberal" You and others here need to get some serious clues. This "liberal media" crap may sound good to you fox ditto heads, but when compared with reality it falls apart. Another thing if the media is so "liberal" why are they not questioning Bush about all the unanswered questions concerning 9/11? No, the media is not liberal, they are in fact a government stooge!
  8. The same way I "prove" existence -- by observation.
  9. I agree. Distortion of the truth is the only thing these filthy liberals understand. Their entire belief system is based from distorted truths, half truths and lies. (See Dan Rather, Michael Moore, Al Franken etc etc.) Rushs comment was twisted and used by the looney left. Now try to post a Youtube video of Hillarity preaching some left winged rhetoric and watch the cowards cry that her words are being distorted. EVEN THOUGH its in a video and shes saying the same BS.
  10. No one can prove that because it absolutely exists. This is just one of the many instances. How about the Bill Reilly controversy this past week. Major media was editing portions of his commentary to make him sound like a flaming bigot. When in fact they omitted the four minutes of tape between comments which completely changed the meaning of his words. Disgusting!!!!! The "major news media" needs to stop taking their news stories from moveon.org and media matters.
  11. The mainstream media (CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, BBC, NY TIMES, LA TIMES, etc) has been proven beyond a doubt to have a liberal bias. A scientific study was performed http://www.newsroom.ucla.edu/page.asp?RelNum=6664 And by the way-- to all the whiners complaining about "Faux News", it's actually close to centrist. The libs hate it though because it is more balanced in general and not totally left leaning and biased like the others
  12. There is NO SUCH THING as a "liberal media". The entire concept is laughable, absurd, ridiculous. ALL American media is owned by 5 or 6 (I forget) major corporations. The American media is a string of monopolies run by very rich, very white people who live in big houses and drives limousines and have no interest whatsoever in changing the status quo in America. The very idea that these owners of American media are radicals or revolutionaries is really preposterous, and the very idea that they are interested in digging out the real truth about any story is equally preposterous. American media cares about car fires, children trapped in sewer pipes, rescued kittens and who is banging who in Hollywood. American media is really really pathetic. Rush Limbaugh fighting with NBC is just one scorpion stinging another in an open toilet.
  13. Dan Rather! Oops that proves your point Great question
  14. The day after Clinton beat George Bush Sr. the McClatchey Newspaper Chain newspapers ran an article: "Economy Not That Bad" There were many people that believed George Bush Sr's tax increase was leading us into another recession but the evidence wasn't there to support it - still the media claimed it for at leat 120 days up until the election ended. If anyone does not think our left wing American media isn't interested in running the nation and getting their people elected they are sadly mistaken. By the way I challenge anyone to find the articles on Al Gore wanting the Internet to be a government controlled entity. Those articles are conveniently not in any newspaper archives online (but they are in print).
  15. I do not need to prove anything. Fox News Channel is extremely leaning toward the Right. CNN is extremely leaning toward the Left. Rush is busy not only being Right, he is dangerous also, by believing that he is the only Right Minded Person out there. No, I cannot find a good left talk show host to name. I feel that an ex-drug addict who will not admit that he is ever wrong, is not the voice of America. He often says "in my formally nicotine stained fingers", bragging that he beat cigarettes and never says anything about his addiction to cigars. His callers are always cut short, so he can spout his drivel. His call screeners always make sure that the ones who get through are in support of Rush or cannot express their side well enough, so that Rush can look good when he tears them apart. Did Rush say Phony Soldiers? Yes he did. Did he try to back out of that statement by taking his own sentence out of context and adding to it? Yes he did. Is Rush more biased then any other talk show host? No he is not. He is just Extremely Biased to the Right.
  16. Given that a surprising number of people still think that Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11, and a surprising number think that WMD were found in Iraq - the media has a liberal bias? Whaaatttt????? The sheeple have spoken, but have a real hard time paying attention, especially to things like facts.
