Setting up a play list for wedding reception?
I have my songs but I am wondering how i should set it up. Like how many fast songs before you play another slow song. Things like that.

- I'd say at least 5 fast songs and then maybe 2 slows ones. You wanna keep everyone involved but give them a break at the same time.
- I recommend Pink - Get the Party Started to open the reception, we had this playing as people entered the ballroom and we were still getting our photos taken. We ended the reception with Norah Jones - The Long Day is Over. Start off with fast, fun songs, I'd say about 15-20 minutes while the room is filling and people are finding their seats and getting settled in. Then slower paced songs during the meal and for the MC to do the first dance and announcements. And finally, for the dancing 3 fast songs and 2 slow songs alternating. Until the end of the evening when you wind down with the slow songs. You HAVE to play the obligatory Celebration - by Cool and the Gang, and YMCA - by the Village People, and We Are Family - Sister Sledge I think. They are tacky songs, but it's really fun and gets the guest to get up and dance. If you can - two wonderful songs to play are Norah Jones - Come Away with Me and Diana Krall - Let's Fall in Love. Beautiful songs!!
