Any suggestions for my summer reading list?
For my 11th grade AP class I need to read and write papers on two of the following books that were listed on my summer reading list sheet: Brave New World Jane Eyre 1984 Pride and Prejudice I will probably read reviews of the books online to get an idea, but I want to know what you all think of the above listed books. Thank you! Thank you, everyone! :)

- im currently in 11th AP english. and i read 1984 in 9th grade honors english, i LOVED it. its about a futuristic/dystopian society. havent read brave new world, but i think its similar. pride and prejudice i read last year in 10th grade AP and it wasnt that great. i heard lots of good things about jane eyre.
- Brave New World & 1984. And, when you've finished those, just for fun, read "Alas, Babylon".
- OH MY GOD. I've read all of em :D Okay, Brave New World is so enthralling. You won't be able to put it down. It's one of the first books about a dystopian society, and it's one of the best :D Surprise ending too. Jane Eyre is sad and heart-wrenching. The end is so beautiful, though. Even the toughest girl will shed a tear. 1984 is again, one of the best books in English language. It's got a little bit of everything except humour, so be prepared to gasp, cry, and get really frustrated. Pride and Prejudice is a nice novel. It's really calm, and the perfect Cinderella story. You should finish it quickly, because it's one of those books that you'll become "attached" to. The ending is really predictable, but the plot takes so many twists and turns that you won't even see it coming. Good luck! :) And happy reading!
- If you like romance, read Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice. dont know what Brave New World is about. If you like science fiction/ dystopian novels, read 1984 (personally i am not a fan). good luck! i'm taking AP English 11 too! :D
- I have been teaching Pre-AP and AP for 7 years now and can tell you that Brave New World and Pride and Prejudice would be best. Both are very different in style, theme, syntax, etc, so you will have a lot to pull from both novels that will support you when the AP test comes around. 11th grade AP is all about rhetoric and analyzing style in a written work, and both of those selections will prepare you! Good Luck!
- Read either 1984 or Brave new world. I loved them. They are also available on spark notes.
- 1984 is definitely my first choice. Brave New World would come next.
