Good summer reading list for a teen?
I'm an avid reader and look foward to the summer. Could you possibly make a list of MUST READ amazing books (and the author if possible) to read. Thank you! maybe a small description of the book if possible too......that would help narrow down if I want to read it or not :] I am looking for more of fictions, good fantasies, realistic, and maybe some mystery. No biographys or nonfiction please :]]

- wow......a teen who reads outside of the school year...i dont have a list but the accidental tourist by anne tyler is wonderfull
- If you're into thrillers (older teen) then Christopher Pike will take your breath away! The first book I read of his was the Midnight Club, and was so impressed I went back to the library and check out all his books they had to offer... The Last Vampire series Final Friends 1,2, and 3 Sati many more...
- You don't say what your interests are. Fiction, biography, mystery. Anne Rice (horror but classy) Robert Ludlum Michael Crighton (lots of Movies from him) James Michner (Long books but take a look) (Dr.) Robin Cook (medical mysteries)
- If you like fantasy, try Piers Anthony's Xanth series. I started them as a teen and now my 15 yr old daughter loves them. They are about a land where magic works and everyone born there has a magic talent. There are well over twenty books in the series, but the first is "A Spell for Chameleon". You can find it on Amazon, or if you don't have much to spend, try your local used book store. They usually have at least some of the Xanth books.
- You could try the Tomorrow Series by John Marsden. It is about a group of teenagers who go camping and while the are in the bush their country gets invaded. the series then goes on to follow their acts of rebellion against the invaders as well as the developing relationships with one another. Also good are Tales of the Otori by Lian Hearn. They are set in a place somewhere like Japan, but not Japan and are about a boy who becomes a warrior. Also good are Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic books (First one is Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic). They are about a girl who LOVES shopping and is completely irresponsible with money and the (many) foolish situations she gets herself in. They are pretty funny and great summer reading. My personal favourite is The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. It is hard to describe what it is about...basically it is about a guy who pops in and out of time and meets his wife at different times (when she is a child, before they meet, etc).
