I have a summer reading list and I have to read one of these..Can you provide insight as to which one to read?

Here are my options: Fiction: The house on Mango street-Sandra Cisneros Enders Game -Orson Scott card The Bluest Eye -Toni morrison Non-fiction: The Greatest: Muhammad Ali -Walter Dean Myers The hot zone -Richard Preston Gifted hands- Ben Carson Tuesdays with Morrie -Mitch Albom I have never heard of any of these and have to pick just one book from this list and was wondering if anyone can suggest one of these...i like to read but only really good books..Useually mysteries or a book that is just so hard to put down. Thanks for helping me out. I appreciate it:)

1. Enders Game is good if you like Science Fiction and almost anything by Toni Morrison is good.

3. I do not know if you are a sci fi fan but Enders game is my favorite book of all time and I have read about 7000 books in my life so far. It is the intriguing story of the adventures of a young boy who is brilliant at tactics and how he is used by his superiors and how he tricks them. I can not recommend it enough good luck with your reading please just try the first two chapters and see if you like ti if so you will love the rest of it.
4. One I am familiar with is "Gifted Hands". Ben Carson is an AMAZING man who was raised by a divorced mother in a ghetto housing project and because of his mother's vision for her sons he grew up to become one of the country's foremost brain surgeons. He is an AMAZING, gifted, wonderful man and his story is nothing short of inspiring and miraculous. The other is "Tuesdays with Morrie". I have not read it, but I know it is about a dying man (Morrie) and what the guy who visits him finds out about the meaning of life and death during his visits. I think it would be a good read if you have questions about "the meaning of it all".
5. Toni Morrison is an excellent author. Tuesdays with Morrie is a simple and good read! Good luck!
6. I've heard that The Hot Zone is fascinating so that's what I'd go for. But that's me. I would suggest that you go to Amazon, look up these books and read reviews and plot synopses. Then you might be able to decide which one would be the most interesting for you.
7. Count me as another vote for "Ender's Game". It's simply written and engrossing and beautiful. I strongly believe it's Card's best work (the novel -- the original short story was weaker).
8. Tuesdays with Morrie -Mitch Albom That would be my choice.
9. i recommend that u read ENDERS GAME! i read it i had fun reading it!, although i have to say it can be a little confusing at time, but it takes some analytical thinking to understand, its cool..u should also think about reading the grapes of wrath, or maybe u already did, its a really good book from John Steinbeck...
10. The Greatest Muhammed Ali Ali was one of the most dynamic characters in history. He was the greatest Boxer. A political figure. Would not fight in Vietnam and it cost him his title all because Allah did not preach war and that quoting him here, "no vietcong ever called me a n*****" He is just so dynamic that i think you'll really enjoy reading about him because he was more than just a boxer.
11. The House on Mango Street was an excellent book but more for its style than its plot if need a book to keep you on the edge of your seat, this is not what you are looking for. It's poetic, short and sweet.
12. I would choose Ender's Game in fiction, and Tuesdays with Morrie in non-fiction.
13. The house on Mango street-Sandra Cisneros I read this for a class once. It's pretty depressing not that Enders Game is all cheer and happy but 'Mango' deals with real life depressing stuff like suicide and abuse. It's written in first person, like a diary. Enders Game -Orson Scott card <-- definately more interesting, and plenty thought provoking. Sci fi, about very smart children being used to save the world. (crap summary of it)
14. Ender's Game is actually required reading for many leadership programs in the US military. My brother thought it was too predictable but, then, he (my brother) is a brilliant tactician in his spare time. Seriously, that kid is soemthing else =) sci fi has a reputation for concerning itself with higher truths, so if you must choose a fiction title I'd go witht hat one. Plus, I don't know about this title specifically, but Card is a magnanimously talented writer who's won awards that would make Sean Connery jealous. One other note: Tuesdays with Morrie is a joke. It's banal. It's vulgar. It's lame. Mitch Albom is a local writer here in Detroit and he's got talent, but that book sucks. Ask your teacher if you can read The Invisible Man or Lord Jim. Farenheineit 451 is great if you want an engaging story with a solid message too. But whatever you do, read books, not toilet paper girl! =)
15. I've read everyone of those books. Orson Scott Cards: "Enders Game." Is one of the greatest books ever written by anyone. it has won just about every award a book can win. absolutely brilliant book.

18. Ender's Game beats any of the others by a zillion miles. It's very good sci-fi and full of suspense. My seond choice would be the book on Ali.
19. I haven't heard of any of them either,but maybe the Muhammad Ali one,he is an interesting boxer.
20. I would read one fiction book then read a non-fiction book so that I get a piece of both.Because if you just read all of the fiction first and then you read all of the non-fiction,you'll first read something funny and then be stuck with all the boring books,then you'll never want to finish the reading list.
