Where can I find a free, comprehensive online list of San Francisco Bay Area tech companies?

I'm starting a small business that will sell to tech companies (hardware, software, Internet-related, etc.) here in San Francisco. I'm trying to come up with a list of potential customers, but it's slow going. Any idea how I might be able to generate that list for little-to-no money? Thanks in advance!
