Is there an online list of casualties from ww1 australian convalescent depot in France?

My grandmothers fiance died at the end of 1918 or start of 1919 . He sent her a Christmas card from the Australian convalescent depot dated 1918, but he never made it back to her. I only have his Christian name, (Arthur) and the fact that he came from Australia and have a rough idea of his age. I know this sounds very vague. Can anyone help at all?

  1. i know a list of online casualties during world war one but it has no names on it. http://europeanhistory.about.com/library/weekly/blww1castable.htm you can try to search in this lsit of hospitals during world war one http://www.anzacday.org.au/digging/hospitals.html it is to hard to record names of casualties during times of war because sending information to other countries is quite hard. but i guess i have given you a clue on where to start
  2. Records of men and women who served with the Australian army in World War I are preserved in the National Archives of Australia. You can search the records online but of course without a surname it will be difficult. You may like to look at the website which is: http://www.naa.gov.au/whats-on/online/feature-exhibits/gift.aspx You will see there are also fact sheets available on searching for WW1 records which are available to download and these may be useful. Good luck with your search.
