In Facebook, How can you remove yourself from the online list even when you ARE online?

For those occasions when you dont want to be listed as "online now"

it's under "privacy" settings
To hide your "Online Now" status: 1) Click "privacy" in the upper right hand corner. 2) Click "Profile" (it's the 1st option). 3) You'll then see a bunch of drop-down menus. Make sure the 5th one from the top (next to Online Status) is set to either "Only me" or "No one." 4) Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the blue Save button. Now when your friends check to see who's online, you won't show up on the list, nor will your friends see it on your profile.
your privacy settings should do that
you go to privacy which is in the top right corner of your page. then you click profile which is the first choice. then you scroll down a little till you find online status. you can change it so no one can see your online status.
